Chiropractic Visit

New Patient Exam: the first two visits

“Getting Your Life Back In Motion” is our primary goal at Motion Dynamics Chiropractic. Dr. Adams treats patients on a physical, chemical, and emotional level. He works with you to find the root cause of your condition and assess all aspects of your health. Because of the individual care Dr. Adams places in each treatment plan the new patient exam is broken down into two visits; the “Initial Exam” and the “Report of Findings”.

Initial Exam (Approx.  30 mins)

In the initial exam Dr. Adams will carefully review your intake form, conduct neurological, orthopedic, and functional movement tests. He will also use specialized Applied Kinesiology muscle testing to assess the muscle-nervous system relationship. Dr. Adams will then take time to review the findings and construct a detailed treatment plan.

Please bring a list of medications and supplements that you are taking or have taken in the last 3 month. If you have had any imaging (x-rays, MRI’s) please bring them with you and or the reports if they are available. X-rays are not required for all patients but if Dr. Adams feels that your specific condition requires them he will refer you out for x-rays.

Report of Findings and first adjustment (Approx. 30 mins)

During your second visit, you will receive your first adjustment, after Dr. Adams has reviewed all the detailed notes from the initial visit. Dr. Adams will share with you his finding, answer any questions and discuss the treatment plan. The treatment plan is a detailed path that lays out the frequency of office visits, nutritional recommendation, and other therapies that will aid in your recovery. Darla, our outstanding Office Manager will also discuss insurance benefits, address financial questions, and provide payment options.

Massage Session

On your initial massage visit at Motion Dynamics Chiropractic you will be asked to fill out a client intake form. Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to session time. After the initial visit, please continue to arrive 10 minutes early to use the restroom or take time to relax and not be rushed for the massage. If you are late, the time cannot usually be made up because it will affect the next clients session.

Your session will be conducted by our professional Myotherapist. She has received training in a variety of techniques so no two massages are exactly alike and you are welcome to request a certain technique or modality. You can receive either a customized full-body massage or focused work on specific areas of your body.

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. Dress down to your own comfort level. During your session, your therapist will only uncover the area of your body being worked on.

Our Myotherapist will leave the room to wash while you undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with the clean top sheet. She will then knock before entering the room and begin the massage.

At the completion of the massage our Myotherapist will leave the room to allow you to dress. Our Myotherapist will know you are ready when you open the door. She will then discuss what she found in the massage and give recommendations for following sessions.

To show our Myotheraptist how much you appreciate her service, you may leave gratuity. When it comes to how much to tip for massage a 15–30% tip is appropriate but not required.
