Motion Dynamics Chiropractic has years of experience providing Charleston, SC residents with chiropractic care that offers freedom from the discomfort of back and neck pain. We are committed to total body wellness and spinal health using traditional and progressive treatments. We understand that loss of mobility from injury and pain can have an enormous impact on a person’s general well-being. Through chiropractic care, we will reduce your pain, improve your range of motion, and enhance your body’s natural healing process.

Applied Kinesiology

This technique involves muscle testing to identify weakness from nerve interference to identify joint and muscle imbalance and help Dr. Adams understand where to adjust the spine and if other factors are involved in your symptoms. Muscle inhibition can be a sign of joint dysfunction, fascial restrictions, inflammation, and even stress to name a few. By challenging your body Dr. Adams can better identify the cause and affect that is leading to you pain and dyscomfort. Weakness in individual muscles can also be a sign of organ dysfunction or fatigue. If this is the case then Dr. Adams can provide nutritional counceling and testing to support your Chiropractic treatment to focus on the whole body.

Manual Adjustment

The spine is responsible for much of our physical mobility. The job of the spinal column is essentially to support the entire human body. While this sounds like a complex job, it is composed of fairly simple elements. The spine is composed of bones, muscles, ligaments, and nerves. The parts of the spine must maintain their natural placement, as misalignment can cause tremendous disruption to the functioning of many parts of the body.

Misaligned vertebrae can place pressure on muscle tissue and nerves which can disrupt the body. Chiropractors are trained to identify misaligned vertebrae based on a patient’s symptoms and address misalignments through chiropractic adjustments. He uses manual manipulation (adjustment) to realign the vertebrae.  This technique is natural and non-invasive, and man patients report an immediate reduction in pain.

Drop-Table Technique

This treatment is non-surgical and non-invasive. It uses gravity and motion to manipulate parts of the spine while the patient sits upon a “table”. Our chiropractor guides the movement of particular sections of the table to align with the physiological needs of the spine.

Low Force Techniques

Dr. Adams has been trained in many different Chiropractic techniques. Some people do not like manual adjustments that "pop" or "crack" the spine. Some people in their current health may not benifit manual adjustments or may be at risk from them. If this is the case we have specific tools like the Activator and the Erchonia Adjustor that provides a gentle force to help mobilize joints and relax muscles attached to them to improve the joint movement and provide pain relief. This can be done with those with osteoporosis and elderly who are at risk with brittle bones and even those who have had spinal surgeries in the past.
